Ice bath and yoga retreats in Alpine hotels and a Lithuanian forest

Nives Egger studied hotel management in Lucerne and then spent many years organising events of all kinds. Over time she found that her interest lay less in planning than in creating experiences that combine mindfulness, movement and the healing power of nature and the cold. Ice and Yoga Retreats and Events GmbH grew out of that. The company does not run a single building. It chooses places. The Alpine Reset puts a group of 10 to 13 at Hotel Laudinella in St. Moritz, with yoga beside Lej da Staz, a lakeside brunch, and a guided hike to an alpine lake for a cold plunge and a picnic prepared by the Zurich nutritionists of Semina. In Val Müstair, the retreats stay at Hotel Chasa Chalavaina, named Historic Hotel of the Year 2024, inside the Biosfera Val Müstair Nature Park. Groups are 9 to 11. Meals come from the valley, including organic hay milk from the monastery farm, and the sauna is in a former barn, heated only for guests. In Lithuania, The Baltic Experience is set in the Labanoras Forest, about 1.5 hours from Vilnius. The property sits on a peninsula with 3 hectares of private land, a Big House and a Small House, a yoga shala among the trees, and a traditional sauna overlooking the lake. In winter the lake freezes and becomes the ice bath. The sauna ritual, Pirtis, is led by a certified sauna master from Lithuania. A typical day begins in silence with chai or herbal tea, then meditation and a yoga flow. Afternoons may bring journaling, a hike or an ice bath. Evenings are for sauna, a sound bath or yoga nidra. The teams include yoga teachers, Wim Hof Method instructors, sound healers, sauna masters, mountain guides and cooks. The pages say plainly that the retreats are not coaching bootcamps or performative self-optimisation. The next retreat, The Golden Autumn Hideaway, runs 22 to 25 October 2026. The Baltic Experience follows in February and March 2027, and a one-day Ice & Yoga Journey workshop is set for Zurich on 13 December 2026. The Val Müstair hotel is closed for renovations through winter 2026/27, and the Winter Hideaway returns in January 2028.
